Carter Pool Project
Challenge
After installing a new pool deck for a home in Rancho Murieta, CA, the general contractor doing the work noticed that this 20'x35' gunite pool seemed to have sunk a little. He contacted NorCal Foundation Support, with the goal to lift the pool back to level using our PolyLevel solution. After scanning the pool for rebar, the team attempted to inject PolyLevel foam under the pool. Unfortunately, the concrete was not dense enough to hold with the pressure of the foam and started to break so lifting the pool would not be possible.
Solution
Since lifting the pool was no longer an option, stabilizing the soils to prevent further sinking was our next step. Over a 3 day span, the team proceeded to drill holes down 3'-4' from the bottom of the pool. Once drilling was done, they injected 969 lbs of Poly with a temperature of 95 degrees into the soils under the pool. There didn't seem to be any other issues upon doing this and the customer is satisfied with the resolution.
