Foundation Repair Photo Album: Sinking Foundation And Slanting Walls In Novato, CA

Novato resident Carol H. knew her home was not level and a wall of her house was slanting. She made an appointment with NorCal Foundation Support and was informed that her house’s foundation wall could be stabilized with push piers and the floors supported with smart jacks. The wall was tipping as a result of the foundation wall sinking. To fix this, push piers would be placed along the perimeter of the house to lift the foundation walls back into place as well as provide support. The smart jacks would replace the old wood posts in the crawl space under the house. Carol wanted her house level and agreed to the suggested work. Carol’s house is now level and her wall is no longer tipping to the side!

Before Smart Jack Installation

The wood posts in the crawl space of the house are what support the beams the floors are on and if they are are not even or sinking they can cause floors to become uneven. Wood posts are susceptible to rot and termites.

This is what our galvanized Smart Jacks look like. This was installed in place of the wood posts.

Push Pier Installation

In order to support the house's foundation these push piers are installed around the perimeter. Using hydraulics they lift and level the foundation. This prevents further foundation sinking and protects the house from damage due to a sinking foundation. Damage to the house due to a sinking foundation can look like, cracks in walls, slanting walls, and cracks in a foundation wall.
